Kee Walk was specified because of its ability to integrate with a standing seam roof without penetrating the roof surface, protecting both the roof warranty and the people working on it.
Kee Walk gave Chipotle the ideal system for safely accessing the rooftop unit during quarterly servicing. Because the solution is non-penetrating, the new standing seam roof was preserved and its warranty unaffected. The customer found Kee Safety easy to work with: our installation partner brought deep experience with the product and was able to meet the project's firm completion deadline. Just as importantly, Kee Walk's modular design allowed the team to adjust the layout on site so technicians could reach the unit comfortably, while keeping the work safely distanced from the edge of the roof.
The system could be adjusted on site to accommodate last-minute changes. That flexibility was the key to getting the project completed on time.
Kee Safety engineered and supplied 33 linear feet of galvanized Kee Walk for the project, complete with a 30" wide fiber-grate walking surface, 40 psf live-load rating, and integrated standoffs sized to sit approximately 8–10" above the standing seam roof profile. Because Kee Walk is modular and ships loose for site assembly, Kee Safety was able to support the project team through last-minute layout adjustments as roof conditions and unit-access requirements were finalized, a level of flexibility off-the-shelf walkways cannot match. Kee Safety also coordinated the install through its trained installation partner, ensuring the system was placed and connected to manufacturer specification and delivered fully OSHA-compliant per 29 CFR 1910.22, 1910.28 and 1910.29.
