Fall Protection on Pedestrian Bridge to Enable Safe Maintenance

• The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, commonly referred to as Metro, operates transit service in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area.
• The roof of the pedestrian bridge that spans the highway was being replaced and fall protection for maintenance was required.
• Kee Safety was chosen as the fall protection vendor, and continues to work on numerous government projects with this contractor.

Challenges

• Tight Space: The walking area was narrow by the edge and the area below the deck had conduit that we could not move.
• Engineering:  Working with our team of internal engineers, and respective outside fall protection consultants, we were able to satisfy the client that the loading requirements were easily satisfied using the KeeLine Horizontal Lifeline System.
